Courses at Sunny Bank Mills, Yorkshire
We are delighted to be teaching at this wonderful venue, which is
a fabulous creative centre in west Leeds where Nel has her studio. It is currently the home of the Great British Sewing Bee.

Nel says
‘It was always my wish to run courses from my studio at Sunny Bank Mills since moving in, in September 2019 but I have been waiting for the right space to become available, which I’m excited to say it now has!
The Loom Shed at the end of my studio in the Twisting Gallery, has recently been renovated and is light and airy, with plenty of room.

Weaving courses are normally held in the space and so you will also be able to see the original looms that William and John Gaunt, who own the mill, learnt to weave on, and also their father’s before them.’

There is access to the Loom Shed by stairs and also a lift and a ramp.

‘All about Colour’ at Sunny Bank Mills
A 3-day non-residential pastel course.
All materials provided, but NOT lunches.
Dates Saturday 7th to 9th October 2023

The course consist of three days tuition by Nel and Rebecca including demonstrations and structured teaching, using a variety of subject matter.
All materials are provided  including easels, although you can bring your own if you prefer.
N.B Please feel free to bring a particular surface to work on, on day 3, if you have a favourite.

Please note lunch is NOT provided  as there are nice places in Farsley to get a bite to eat, and we thought it would give you a chance to explore the mill.
We also have a Wool shop, Haberdashery, Mill gallery and shop serving teas, coffee and delicious cakes on Saturday and Sunday, as well as lots of places on Town Street to grab some lunch.
You are welcome to also bring your own lunch if you prefer.
