2020 COURSES IN MORE DETAIL

DEVON

Shorland Old Farm, Exmoor, Devon

VENUE: Shorland Old Farm, Barton Lane, Challacombe, Bratton Fleming, North Devon EX31 4UB

Shorland Old Farm is on the edge of Exmoor National Park. We always look forward to returning to this warm and welcoming venue, the perfect place for courses. We couldn’t have better hosts, the food is wonderful and accommodation so comfortable and convenient. With the studio just across from the farmhouse it makes for an ideal and relaxing venue for students, with no travelling, or concerns about where to dine out each evening.

All our courses are run with the aim of encouraging a very friendly atmosphere that is supportive to everyone whatever level they may be at. So please don’t worry whether you will be good enough to come on the course! We always have a range of abilities from those who have never even picked up a pastel to those who have been on several courses. We all have something to learn from each other.

All meals are provided from your arrival on the first afternoon for a welcoming Devon cream tea to the last morning breakfast before departure. Tuition in the studio is from 10am to 4pm each day for 3 days.

Nel and Rebecca will be there to welcome you and will join you for dinner on the first and last evenings. We decided to extend the course to the next morning as everyone is always tired by the last day and we thought it would be nice to have an end of course dinner and leave afresh the following morning!

Inspiration from Life’ Shorlands Residential Course

It is not compulsory, but is just an added benefit to coming on the course. These will be held at the end of some days between 4-6pm.

Ashburton is just off the A38, about 21 miles South of Exeter.
It is a lovely little town, very close to Dartmoor and the beautiful countryside of Devon, with lots of independent shops, restaurants and cafes to visit. The Town Hall is full of space and light, and we are really looking forward to our first course here.
